One of our favorite times of the year is here. We are embarking on the season of thanks and joy! While we are thinking about what we are going to make for the upcoming holidays, we also have to think about out-of-town guests that will be joining for the holidays, right?

Let’s start with the most obvious. If you haven’t had your house deep cleaned for some time, you may want to start there. Decide whether you want to take on that task or hire a cleaning company to deep clean your home. If you choose to do it yourself, here are some things to think about that you may not normally clean on a usual basis.

  • Clean your doors- Wipe down the doors and knobs. Dust and clean the door frames.
  • Clean your baseboards and light fixtures- Use a soft cloth and wipe down your baseboards with an all-purpose solution.
  • Deep clean your fridge- throw out old and expired food. Take out the shelves and drawers and wash them.
  • Deep clean your guest bathroom- wipe down the cabinets and light fixtures, clean inside the drawers, throwing out old product.
  • Clean your windows- use a solution of 50% water and 50% vinegar.
  • Clean your guest bedroom- wipe down the dresser, clean under the bed, dust the cobwebs.

Spruce up your home with some holiday decor. Take a look at Pinterest and get inspired.

Make your guests feel welcomed and stock your guest bathroom with travel size items like lotion and soap.

Ask your guests what their favorite treats/food/drinks and stock up!

The holidays are a time to enjoy family, laugh, and make new memories. If you get your home ready for the holidays now, you can focus on spending time with your family when the time comes!
